NextGen Seminar

Empowering the next generation of glycoscience leaders

Hosted by the Glycobiology Reserach & Training Center

The NextGen Seminar is a trainee-only event designed exclusively for graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and fellows. It provides a supportive and engaging environment for junior scientists with an interest in the glycosciences to present their research, exchange ideas, and build connections. The format is inspired by the Gordon Research Seminar model, fostering open discussion in a non-intimidating setting.

Traditionally the NextGen Seminar is held alongside the San Diego Glycobiology Symposium (SDGS) as a dedicated platform for trainee development and networking. For 2026, the NextGen Seminar will be offered as a standalone, one-day event hosted on the UC San Diego campus during the Spring Quarter.

The program will return in 2027 as a two-day event integrated with SDGS.
