Abstract Submission (trainees only)
Trainee presentations are selected from a pool of submitted abstracts. Selected abstracts will be chosen to present at either the main SDGS meeting on Friday, April 25 or chosen to present during the NextGen Session on Thursday, April 24. Additionally, one trainee may be named as the Rising Star and will be asked to give a talk at the closing of the SDGS meeting. To be considered to present during NextGen or SDGS, indicate your intention on the registration form and submit your abstract by March 13.
The NextGen committee comprised of young investigators, with the support of the SDGS Chair, will select abstracts for 15-minute oral presentations + 5 min Q&A. Committee decisions will be emailed March 2025. There will be a Trainee Speaker Award for best oral presentation. Presentation slots are limited. If your abstract is not selected, you also have an opportunity to present a poster during the Poster Session. Abstract is not required to do a poster talk.

NextGen Session (trainees only)
NextGen is only for students, fellows and postdocs. It provides a mechanism for students and fellows with interest in the glycosciences to discuss current research in a highly stimulating, non-intimidating enviornmnt. The model is based on the Gordon Research Seminar Series.
Admission to the NextGen Session is included with SDGS registration cost, however, SDGS registration is required. NextGen will be held on Thursday, April 24 from 12:00pm - 5:00pm. It will take place in the Medical Education and Telemedicine Building (MET), Learning Center room 145, on the UC San Diego School of Medicine campus.
If you are interested in attending the NextGen Session and/or be considered to give a talk at the NextGen Session please indicate this on the SDGS registration form.
Poster Session (all welcome)
Trainees and Fellows are encouraged to present a poster at SDGS during the Poster session. Poster presentations will occur during lunchtime 12:30-2:30pm without specific scheduling for individual talks. Attendees can visit posters at their own pace and engage in discussions. Additionally, SDGS attendees will have opportunity to vote for the best poster presentation. Please indicate your intention to present a poster on the registration form (above). You must send the title of your poster Tracy Gilstrap at sdgs@ucsd.edu by March 28, 2025 to be listed in the Program. Posters must not exceed 48" x 48". Bring your poster to the registration table on Friday morning during check in. No abstract is required to do a poster talk. This is separate from submitting an abstract to give a talk during the meeting.
